1. Introduction

MyPawTribe ("we", "our") operates the MyPawTribe application (the "Service"). This privacy policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account data: Name, email address, password (encrypted), profile photo.
  • Pet data: Name, breed, age, size, sex, photos and description of your dog.
  • Location data: GPS coordinates when authorized, for discovery features and pet-friendly map.
  • User content: Posts, comments, chat messages, photos and videos you share.
  • Usage data: Interactions with the app (likes, matches, views).
  • Payment data: Securely processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card data.

3. How We Use Data

  • Provide and improve the Service (matching, feed, chat, map).
  • Personalize the experience based on location and preferences.
  • Send notifications about matches, messages and updates.
  • Process Premium subscription payments.
  • Ensure security and prevent fraud.
  • Generate anonymous usage statistics.

4. Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Images and videos are stored on Cloudflare R2 with encryption. Passwords are encrypted with bcrypt. We use HTTPS for all communications.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Other users: Your public profile, dog photos and posts are visible to other users.
  • Payment processors: Stripe processes subscription payments.
  • Email services: SendGrid sends transactional emails.
  • Monitoring: Sentry collects technical error data to improve the app.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate data in your profile.
  • Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data through the app settings or by contacting us.
  • Portability: Request your data in a structured format.
  • Objection: Object to the processing of your data for specific purposes.

7. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through Profile → Legal & Account → Delete Account. This will permanently erase all your data, including dog profiles, posts, messages and matches. This action is irreversible.

8. Cookies and Technologies

We use JWT tokens for authentication and localStorage for preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

9. Minors

The Service is intended for users aged 13 or older. We do not intentionally collect data from children under 13.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by email.

12. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. After account deletion, personal data is erased within 30 days. Technical logs, payment records and backups may be retained for up to 90 days for legal, tax and audit purposes.

13. International Transfers

Your data is processed in the European Union (Cloudflare R2 EU, MongoDB Atlas EU). Providers such as Stripe and Resend may process data in the US under EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).

15. Google Play — Data Safety

In line with the Google Play Data Safety Section, we declare:

  • Data collected: email, name, photos, approximate location (opt-in), app interactions.
  • Data shared with third parties: payment processors (Stripe), email service (Resend), error analytics (Sentry).
  • All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS 1.2+) and at rest.

16. Advertising and Analytics

We do not use third-party advertising inside the app. We use anonymized internal analytics only to improve the experience.
